* Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or field of instruction
* NC Certification/Teaching License or
* The ability to receive a NC Teaching License

EMPLOYMENT HOURS ARE 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM, MONDAY – FRIDAY
- Read The First Six Weeks of School and become familiar with Responsive Classroom practices.
- Implement The First Six Weeks of School with fidelity.
- Teach children to care and build relationships through positive behavior and language toward students, staff, and the community by using Responsive Classroom practices and a daily Morning Meeting.
- Read, ask questions, and understand all aspects of the ACS curriculum, so that you can implement it effectively.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans a program of study that aligns with the curriculum set forth by the administrative team.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
- Provide small group differentiated instruction in reading and math.
- Implement literacy and math work stations.
- Plan and implement with the grade level team and special teachers at least 3 standards based projects aligned with the NC Essential Standards in Social Studies &/or Science per year (2 SS and 1 Science or 1 Science and 2 SS).
- Meet at least 1 time per week with your team to collaboratively plan weekly lessons.
- Meet 1 time per week with the Admin. Team to discuss curriculum and/or data.
- Prepares lessons for the classes assigned with their team and shows written evidence of preparation upon request. A weekly outline is shared with the administration through Google Drive.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicates these objectives to students.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the students involved.
- Maximize the integration of technology into core learning processes - will be able to use all of the technology (document camera; interactive TV; iPads; Wacom interactive tablet; etc.) in classroom instruction.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports and report cards as required.
- Uses the Responsive Classroom approach and creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity of the students.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Seeks assistance from the EC Teachers and Facilitator as required
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and administrative regulation.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attends meetings, school events, and serves on staff committees as required.
